I have the Herring Chiswick II by Barker which is a nice suede full brouge. It is just inside your price range IIRC.

Just did a quick Google search and they seem impossible to find nowadays. Just my luck!

Crepe or leather soles on chukka boots for this iGent.

My Testonis are like that. My Branchinis have a Dainite sole that is very slippery.

Or na I will go with the C&J Chiltern in darkbrown suede. Since I tried them out today and they were perfect (I know my C&J size) the church's would I have to order online and i'm pretty lost with the sizes, will not take chances. Will pay little extra for the C&J but well worth it.

Can someone help me understand the modifiers that accompany descriptions of various suedes? E.g. Spoo's EG Malverns are "mole," various C&Js are "polo," Cheaneys "plough," etc. Are these all color indicators? or do they have something to do with the properties of the suede? I assume that "repello" is treated to repel water/stains. Is that right?

I live in the tropics, where it's always (by most gents' definition) summer, and that's style.

What do you guys think about these Mark McNairy Longwings? Are they too formal for a senior student at high school?
I usually wear oxfords, polos, cardigans, v-necks and jeans to school. My other shoes are chelsea boots, desert boots and converse, so I would like to buy some new suede lowtop shoes,
but I am not sure what kind of suede shoes that will fit a guy like me.

What do you guys think about shoes with brick sole? "Hot or not?"

I do like the aesthetic of them for a super casual setting, but I would imagine they would take a beating in a high school pretty fast.
