 Latte art is tough.  You have to get the perfect milk froth to get a perfect design.  Try pouring less quickly, and wiggle your hand faster.

I spent the better part of an afternoon trying to do that.

My first few came out like this:

Wow those are really really good. Better than most I've seen at cafes. I too am not a fan of coffee with milk especially cappuccinos. At most a cortado. But I appreciate the care and skill that goes into latte art

Don't have time to go through 800 posts, but I just bought an aeropress for a camping trip and thought I'd give it a whirl first. Per their instructions it makes an absolute shit cup of coffee. So where to turn?

Their instructions: two scoops ground med-fine into tube with enough water to hit the marked "2". Stir for 10 sec. Press for 20-30.

 

My feeling is finer grind, more water, longer steeping time. Going for an americano.

Black water - weak and tepid. Used the same bean in the morning with a press and it was great.

 

Kinda wished I had just grabbed a cheap press for my trip.

Ignore the instructions that come with the Aeropress --- they're terrible. Try some out on http://worldaeropresschampionship.wordpress.com/recipes/ or just watch this video (full recipe at the end of the video):

Just read the blog post and watched the video. Honestly, I'm not sure what the hubbub is about this thing. 

 

Think I'll send it back tomorrow and pick up a cheap press.
