Lets talk about COFFEE

What do you guys drink and like? How do you make it and take it?

Drinking some Sumatra right now, probably 3 tablespoons to a cup so it's nice and thick. Black, no sugar or milk.

I grind my own beans (coarse) and use a french press.

I am having some dark roast flores (from an area of Indonesia) from a neighborhood roaster/the coffee nazi right now, also drinking it black. Very strong coffee, excellent for people who are never satisfied with how strong their coffee is.

I've dialed it back to avoid having to make a separate batch for Mrs. T.

Starbucks French Roast, usually, with a little cream and sugar.

I've been drinking lots of Ruta Maya's organic coffee beans - they sell 2.2 pound bags at Costco for around 12 or 13 bucks. It's a good Austin company, too. I feel like a child for taking cream and sugar in my coffee, but it's what I do. PG Tips is the tea of choice when I'm trying to cut back on caffiene.

Sadly, I can only drink decaff - had heart surgery and I became tachycardic as a side effect - which curbed my coffee drinking for awhile. Eventually I've identified some respectable decaffs.

My basic coffee: organic and dark roast.

Currently I'm drinking Batdorf and Bronson's organic Peruvian decaff. B&B is inconsistent with their dark roast, but one of their two roasters happens to be here in Atlanta, so I can select only the beans that are (to my eye/nose) perfectly roasted.

I grind my own (I use a Zassenhaus hand grinder) and hand-pour to brew - the actual brewing, to me, is as pleasurable as the drinking... kind of a slow, quiet, meditative moment.

I almost always drink mine black (which is why I need really good coffee), though occasionally I'll brew it stronger and do an au lait (maybe for breakfast or brunch).

I drink the garbage the receptionist makes. And I drink a lot of it.

If I get to choose, I'm pretty fond of Kenyan.

bought some Stumptown Roasters in Portland. Costa Rican blend. Getting my coffee grinder today and will french press tomorrow!

Hardly anything better than Stumptown. Getting drinks in the cafe is outrageously pleasant. Those brown cups in which they serve the drinks are gorgeous.

crap, the grinder did not arrive. can i use my cuisinart hand blender to grind the coffee?
