So I'm going to a casual party with 30 or so friends and friends of friends. Background : I'm 30, usually wear oxford shirts, BR chino's, boat shoes but I'm trying to get out of my same old fashion ways....without going too wild lol. Anyway, opinions/rec's are welcome!

Gap dark wash straight jeans ( http://www.gap.com/browse/product.do...d=1&pid=579549 )

RL gray cotton v-neck sweater ( similar to http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/i...entPage=family )

Classic RL oxford in white underneath

Born Hemlock's in Chesnut ( http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7357727/c/157499.html )

Your trying to change your old fashioned ways but your changing it for something just as unimaginative as your original style. Anyway, everything is passable but those boots are just terrible!

Yeah it is pretty unimaginarive I agree, but I'm pretty conservative by nature (except for my partyling!) and simple in my style I guess, although it doesn't have to be boring (as this may be). I actually just bought the boots...I thought that would be the best part of the wardrobe! Ha. Anyway, keep the rec's and opinions coming, i have thick skin!

I would trade out the white button down with a more colorful shirt. A navy or purple gingham underneath the sweater would still be conservative, but it would bring some life to the outfit.

Mix in an odd jacket and more interesting shirt. The shoes aren't the worst thing I've seen here but you could do much better.

Already I can do the blue/purple Gingham shirt as I have one already. So are the shoe's way off with this attire? What would be a better shoe to wear with this?

And, since I already have the Born Hemlock's...what would they be appropriate to wear with?

THANKS folks!

Ha! Damn, I had no idea they were so bad! Is it color or just the boots? At any rate, what kind of shoes should I wear with the darker jeans? I'll probably have to buy something unless I can get by with a pair of brown leather driving slip ons.

Explain Web 2.0 please? I assume it is not a good thing but I don't know the context.
