Wings + Horns Sample Sale - Proxy

There is a W+H Sample sale this weekend.

I will proxy it, depending on who PMs me, for a nominal fee of 15% pre-paid via paypal. I do not know the price list since it wasn't sent out, but past sales have been in the realm of 20% of retail depending on what "category" of stuff we're talking about.

Some of the stuff is often slightly different versions of broad production goods, like say a mk2 in some different colour than offered in stores, or a slight detail difference, like one year they had the shawl collar cardigan with no ribbing detail on it anywhere.

The plan is this - You can pre-paypal me whatever amount they want and ask for X Y or Z. Pick whatever amount you're comfortable spending in the circumstances. I will keep 15% of that. You can then tell me how exact they want me to be (ie, "I want a size M hoodie" or "I want the grey quilted chambray vest from last season in size S" in which case I would like a picture). If I find that thing for less than the amount paypal'd, I will just refund the difference. But there aren't any returns and I obviously can't send PMs while I am there, so if you want something specific be specific (the pitfall of which is, if they don't have that specific thing you asked for, you won't get anything and I'll just refund your payment).

Being more specific (ie FW08 fleece mackinaw in brown size M) means I won't buy anything for you that doesn't meet the description, casting the net broadly (ie grey or black hoody, size L) means you will most likely end up with something, and to date it's always been a very good deal (I always end up spending like twice what I budget at these things). Either way, be aware I'm not walking into Roden Gray here; the likelihood of them having an Award jacket in your size and the fave colour when I go to look for it is pretty slim.

Example: if I was on the other side of this, I would paypal $150 and say,
1. First priority - spend on a grey Mk-2 or grey or black Award jacket in XL if they're somehow less than $130,
2. If not, get me a zip flannel in XL, no matter what colour.
3. Spend anything left over on a blanket in whatever colour.

I will not be proxying on the level of the first time I did this (when I think I dropped about $2000).
If I get a ton of interest I will decide who I am shopping for based on what they're looking for / how much they're spending / how much I like them. I figure if there isn't much interest, less work for me and more shopping for Christmas presents.

PM me if you are interested.

If you find a black or brown tiger fleece hoodie in XL slim fit I'll take it, both would be wonderful

20% of retail... as in 80% off? or did you mean 20% off retail?

Also, how were you planning on dealing with shipping fees?

I mean 80% off... Really it's UP to 80% off, some years it has been more like 50-60% off but I have also gotten things worth 600+ for 100, or stuff like zip flannels for 40 bucks (which made my life in 2008 sale). One sale tees were 20 bucks a pop, last sale they were 3 for 20 bucks which is ridiculous. It varies. They categorize things (like so: jeans - 90$, hoodies - 70$, shirts - $50, tees - 15$, blankets - 65$) and the categoies and prices vary by sale and I don't know exactly what they are. It's always a good deal though. See what I typed above. I have received some interest and am not going to shop for everyone who sends me a PM, nor am I carrying 2 grand into the place, so I will let people know what my agenda is asap. Similarly get your PMs to me asap because I can't organize this night before.

Wow. So many PMs. I should point out that even if you ask me to look for 3 things for you I might not find anything that meets those descriptions. Although, for example, someone asked for a size L hoody in grey or black or size 32 chinos in grey or tan... that seems to me likely that I'll find at least one of those things. But I definitely make no promises because the actual selection is pretty tough to predict and some of it is other CYC brands like reigning champ or alife (I will proxy those too by the way, last time they had some RC peacoats). Also like I said I don't have prices. If for some reason they have JACKED the prices since last sale and are now pushing hoodies at 100+ or something like that, I'll just see if there are any deals, leave, and refund everyone. Also, I may pick up a few things and flip them on the B&S here afterwards despite no one having asked for them in particular... FYI I already know I will be selling a W+H black bomber jacket with a shearling collar and leather elbow patches in size L (fits slim L or M) for $180 flat.

I have never seen shoes at one of these and won't be taking orders for them as a result. Just really unlikely they'll have any.

Just do this. You know what will sell. I'd be interested in some outerwear but the whole process is a bit much as i don't really know what i'd want. You could probably sell stuff on SF in sizes L and sufu in size S if you get cool pieces. Good luck. I know you'll be swamped with PMs

^I already have waaaaay too many to reply to right now and more people than I intend to shop for (am busy this week at end of term and don't have time to make life into nightmare) but I will def pick stuff up for some of people who have PM'd me. And will reply to all your PMs as soon as I can. Yeah anything that looks cool I will grab and re-sell. Thing is usually the really cool stuff is larger sizes and then I end up wanting to keep it. Ie the shearling collar coat. Wtf self, you have way way too much outerwear as it is, what were you thinking? Well self, it was really really awesome and I've never seen a shearling collar W+H piece before. Now I'm selling it at a loss.
