This post really gave me the itch. I was seriously considering a 2003 XK8 coupe towards the end of this year, so went and drove a friend's 2003 XKR convertible this past Saturday. The car was an absolute beast. Unfortunately the visibility for a 6'5" driver is pretty abysmal--probably wouldn't even be safe.
I could sit comfortably (a surprise) but I had to lean forward over the steering wheel and look up to see most traffic lights. Car had unbelievable throttle response though. I wish it were just a little bit bigger--as it stands just no way to live with it day to day, I don't think.
Now looking at a 2002 Mercedes CLK55 coupe--XKR performance but much more practical. A little cheaper, too.
