Talked to the police, they said they won't help until he commits a crime. Really. Then, after the crime, I should call the police.

sissy as it sounds I'd probably bring mace in my pocket. other than that, there's nothing much you can do actually but be prepared to be jumped on if the guy's really serious. then again, if a guy is serious he wouldn't call you up on a payphone to warn you.

at the very least give you better advice than what you'd find in this thread

it's also possible they have a better relationship with the police than you do. or that they could recommend some sort of private services they've dealt with in the past.

He speaks Russian, that dangerous. Honestly I don't really know, but he's stalked her before, waiting outside her apt/work, when she was breaking up with him etc. Guys in China kill themselves all the time over girls, and there a lot of crazy/creepy guys here, so better safe than sorry. He's obviously not a rational person behaving within the boundaries of society, so that's what makes me worried.

People are giving some dumbass advice.
Don't attack him. 1) If you beat a guy up, and that guy is actually crazy, it just escalates the situation. What? You going to kill him? You'd probably not enjoy Chinese prison. 2) Don't be too dismissive of him because you have a sixpack and he's fat. I've seen plenty of fat dudes smash. Don't carry a weapon. Again, Chinese prison is probably not a place you want to be, nor are deportation centers.

Get some advice from the American Consul or Embassy. They might not be able to help you out, but it's worth a try.

The best advice in this thread has come from Teger and LA Guy. Don't go hunting this guy down for the reasons LA Guy stated. Have your girl stay with you and follow the advice Teger has pointed out. Hopefully nothing comes of this but get some protection at your house as well. I don't know anything about China but from previous posts it sounds like they don't allow you o legally own much of anything to protect yourself. I agree with the baseball bat idea and whatever else is allowed by law. Come to think of it, I never really realized how many potential weapons I have within 10 feet of my bed. 3 guns, a couple swords, about 10 knives, a machete, 30 plus fishing rods, 3 baseball bats, some golf clubs, and a blowgun.

He's a Russian dude in China? You're fucked. If it's just a Chinese dude who speaks Russian it's not that bad, other than the fact that he can hire a Russian in China to kill you.

Well, so basically either way, I guess.
