Btw (having only read the first few pages) this seems to be a cyclical thing between these two; they will never see eye to eye (no short joke intended). Two strong personalities diametrically opposed. I've said it before and I still maintain Moo has a chip on his ill-fitting shoulder, and Foo is just a straight-shooter, for better or worse.

uh, as a noobie who follows threads like this because i can't be home watching my "stories", let me say that moo definitely seems to have a bit of a chip and Foo is definitely a straight-shooter ... albeit with about a gazillion rounds of ammunition that he's not afraid to use on a dead horse.

the foo blog "tweed in the city" reminds me of when on the family guy stewie is giving brian **** about his novel that he's been working on

How you uh, how you comin' on that novel you're working on? Huh? Gotta a big, uh, big stack of papers there? Gotta, gotta nice litte story you're working on there? Your big novel you've been working on for 3 years? Huh? Gotta, gotta compelling protaganist? Yeah? Gotta obstacle for him to overcome? Huh? Gotta story brewing there? Working on, working on that for quite some time? Huh? (voice getting higher pitched) Yea, talking about that 3 years ago. Been working on that the whole time? Nice little narrative? Beginning, middle, and end? Some friends become enemies, some enemies become friends? At the end your main character is richer from the experience? Yeah? Yeah?

Foo takes "critique" to a whole 'nother level every time he offers it. He ONLY criticizes, and never posts anything 'nice' bout anyone's fits (why?). He jabbers on and on compulsively and without reproach (why?). Perhaps critique with some positives mixed in would provide a more true and more believable form of judgment, but as I see it he just does it to be an ass and it's hard to take seriously.

Late to the party, I know, but this just isn't true. Foo has a sharp eye for stuff that's wrong and lets people know it, but he posts positive comments, too. He Foofed me and basically said there was nothing wrong with my outfit. And it was a suit I thrifted, too--not a bespoke job. FWIW.
