can anyone recommend me the best email client they've used?

i'm using Tbird now but what i dont like is that when i click "get message" it wont pop up a screen that shows the list of email accounts that it is checking, like what you see in outlook...

so there's no way i can know which email acct has an error downloading mails..

i've used sylpheed and i like it a lot but it can only dl mails in plain text (i.e. no pics) format

Why not just stick with Outlook?

If you have to buy it, then I'd consider looking for something else but if you already own Office then Outlook is great.
