Hanging rugs on the wall?

I mean old, expensive Persian rugs?

When I look at my parents old family photos from Russia, there's undoubtedly a old Persian rug hanging on the walls. I've inherited all these rugs, and I think even in this modern age in the right type of room this could look really nice. Opinions?

It is done for highly detailed silk rugs where walking on the rug would damage it.
