No top shelf liquors here.... What do you stock your bottom shelf with for parties or for cheap drinks when flavor is not your primary goal?

Vodka: Svedka
Gin: Gordon's
Bourbon: Jim Beam Black
Scotch: JW Red and Auschentoshan
other whisk(e)ys: Crown, 7, Jameson or Brennan's, and any clear whiskey in a mason jar
Rum: Mount Gay Eclipse, Myers's, Appleton or Cruzan White, and Captain Silver
Tequila: Cazadores Blanco
Brandy: Paul Masson
Triple Sec: Harlequin
other liqueurs: Carolan's, Kahlua, and Amarula
other: Vermouth, mixers, grenadine, and a bottle of simple syrup

I go through quite a bit of Dewars, Beefeater, and Smirnoff.

Surprised to see Amarula, I love it but its a pretty obscure drink.

I had to help scale back the liquor list for my society's (it's like a frat, but co-ed) pledging afterparty, so i'm pretty familiar with subbing out cheaper booze. There's a cheaper coffee liqueur than Kahlua that's just as good. I'm not sure what exactly it is--it has a vague aztec-y design on the front and it comes in a plastic bottle. Regardless, it's an easy thing to scale down on and it tastes exactly the same. Also, instead of bailey's, there's an irish creme called "molly's" that's just as good when mixed. As for bourbon, my friends and I all enjoy ol' grandad. But we're cheap college students who enjoy drinking like depression-era rural southerners* *As opposed to say SFers who enjoy dressing like depression-era rural southerners. Zing!

I haven't seen the Kahlua sub you're talking about. I'll take a look for it. I've tried other coffee liqueurs, but haven't found anything I like yet.

This is pretty spot on. For gin, I go with Boodles.

I like tito's for Vodka, really amazing stuff for a mid-range price. Used to be a bit cheaper but I think more people are catching on.

Rye: Rittenhouse Bottled in Bond - $15
Bourbon: Buffalo Trace - $15
Gin: Plymouth - $23
Vodka: Tito's - $15

Some people like to go cheaper, but I can't find a reason to go cheaper than $15 a bottle because I don't host large parties with people who want to get plastered.

I actually just set up a bar at my place last week in advance of the holidays and corresponding social events. I did not purchase everything on this list expressly for the bar, perhaps a quarter of the listed items were already on hand. I did never the less succeed admirably in re-enacting the opening scene of Leaving Las Vegas filling up an entire shopping carriage with hard liquor and assorted accompaniments.

Vodka: Smirnoff, Absolut, Ketel One, Belvedere, Triple 8
Gin: Beefeater, Gale Force, Hendrick's, Tanqueray
Scotch(blended): Cutty Sark, Dewar's White, Chivas 18 yr.
Scotch (single malt): Glenmorangie 10 yr., Glenlivet 12 yr., Macallan Sherry Oak 12, 18 yrs.
Bourbon: Knob Creek, Wild Turkey, Maker's Mark
Canadian Whisky: Crown Royal
Irish Whiskey: Jameson, Paddy
Tennessee Whiskey: Jack Daniels
Rum: Mount Gay, Gosling's, Myers, Captain Morgan, Bacardi, Appleton Estate, Hurricane
Tequila: Jose Cuervo, Patron Silver
Cognac: Courvoisier VS, Hennessy Privilege VSOP, Martell VS
Liqueurs: Jagermeister, Campari, Romana Sambuca, Pallini Limoncello, Kahlua, Bailey's, Galliano, Benedictine, Grand Marnier
Beer: Stella Artois, Amstel Light, Budweiser, Bass

Other/Mixers: tonic, soda water, cola, orange juice, cranberry juice, dry vermouth, sweet vermouth, Red Bull, Monster Energy, Barritt's Ginger beer
