What's wrong with my molar?

Yes, I know this is something a dentist should give me advice about, but I suppose most will be closed tomorrow, and I'll likely have to suffer through Thanksgiving like this.

Two days ago, I noticed that my "bite" was off-- I couldn't close my front teeth all the way without putting a great deal of pressure on my lower right molar. I didn't think much of it, since I occasionally have problems like this that go away. Just in the past few hours, though, the pain seems to have gotten much worse. I'm afraid eating might be next to impossible.

Any ideas what this might be? I think I had my wisdom teeth removed, but even my mother isn't sure.

After I had my wisdom teeth out my teeth shifted some, and the space between some of them opened up. When this happened it let food get in there, and flossing wouldn't get rid of it. After a little while it got really irritated, and it hurt to do pretty much anything on that side of my mouth.

I have no clue if something like this could be your problem, but with if your bite has changed it could mean your teeth have shifted. That being the case, it sounds like it could be similar to my experience.

The good news is that if this is the problem it was pretty easy to solve. They just cleaned it all up, and it was better after about a day.

hmmm.... fwiw, I had a problem like that couple of weeks ago, where I can't seem to bite on my right side without the right upper gum hurting. it subsided a few days after but didn't really go away so I went to the dentist and found out that I had like an infection inside the gum that required local anesthesia, slicing parts of the gum open to clean out those fuckers and sewing it back on. didn't really hurt that much, and I was happy the infection didn't affect the root of my teeth. I just have to go back more regularly to make sure that part won't get infected again.

This might be it. A few months ago I had periodontal surgery to correct a receeding gumline... it might have gotten infected.
