I'm a fan of Fjall Raven. A down jacket has to be practical and unpretentious.

You have to go with Canada Goose. Nothing beats it for the price. I've been living in Whitehorse for the past couple years, and it gets cold here. I mean cold (-40 C) . The Canada Goose Bomber does a fantastic job.



I'd really like to get this one as well:

Do you think the Neutrino is fine for daily commuting in the city in the winter, it seems like it's for climbing. Around here we take the train so I don't want to pass out on my way to where I'm going.

Thanks. It has served me well for years. It's one of the few RTW things I bought at full MSRP.

I'd go with a Canada Goose Expedition. It's worth the extra cost.

+1 however the OP is looking for a down jacket and Arc'teryx really isn't in that market. They make some softshells that resemble down however.

Very nice jacket. I wouldn't hesitate to wear it over a suit on a bitterly cold day in these parts.

dude this is awful advice a) it's a brand, not a jacket b) Arcteryx doesn't even make something like what OP is looking for
