Pumping a woman's gas

I was blatantly unaware of this as a breach of etiquette until recently, so I'm curious how many others here do this on a regular basis.

Situation: You are a passenger in your female friends car, and she pulls over to get gas. Who gets out and pumps the gas?

She does, its her car, let her stink like fuel. Unless I am paying, and its not a serviced gas station, I wont get out of the car.

Once I was a passenger i my gfs car. She got out to fill it. A friend was outraged. 'Threathening' to get out and do it himself.

I didn't get the fuss, but I've been turned....

Just a friend? It's her car, and she can pump her own gas.

If it's my wife and me I usually pump the gas. If we're paying with cash, or if we need something from inside, she usually takes care of that.

Also, thanks for the new euphemism!

I had no idea it was anyone's responsibility but the driver to top up on fuel, unless of course your circumstance prevents it ie disabled driver, owner is passenger, you agreed to shout fuel etc.

the only two women i would pump gas for is my wife or my mom. other than that, if is some old lady who was giving me a ride and needed to fuel i would as well.

Uhhhh... there are bigger problems if you can't avoid spilling gas on yourself.

But yeah, usually whoever is driving pumps unless the car is full and everyone is getting out.
