It has been surprisingly hard to find good striped pique fabrics. In December there will be a new batch of colors which will include a grey with white stripes.
Thanks for the response. FWIW, I'd pay a bit extra for striped ones if fabric cost is an issue. It's impossible to find anything striped without an obnoxious logo, much less as nice as yours.

Bad news: due to increasing postage costs I will no longer be offering free domestic shipping, effective sometime next week. You can place your order now while shipping is still free.

Good news: new shipment of polos will be arriving around Sept 20, including long-sleeves.

Coming soon around September 20: long sleeve polos (aka rugby shirts), $85. This first batch will only be available in white, navy, and white with navy stripes.
Unlike most rugbys, these will have a button cuff—with mother of pearl buttons, of course—which, along with the collar, is another characteristic drawn from woven shirts.

Just opened up my newest polo and the new buttons are amazing. They are so much nicer than the thinner ones. Great job on changing those out Kent.

KW, I think you need to make some in burnt orange so you can sport your polos when you come back for a game. This would also benefit me.

I may be too anal, but silk tie widths seem inconsistent lately. First I got a tie that was supposed to be 3" but in reality was 2.75". I exchanged it. Got the replacement, the width at widest point was 3" as it is supposed to be, but on the other hand it tappered too much, so the width in the middle of the tie was even narrower than in the tie i exchanged - in fact it is the same or narrover than my other 2.75" ties, so it ties a crappy knot. I'll keep it because i hate shipping stuff back and forth, but it is nevertheless annoying at these prices. I'm still willing to give the benefit of the doubt and try the grenadines later, but surely I hope there are no similar issues.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've now checked over all our ties, both at the widest point and at the knotting point and they're all consistent. I can only conclude that the ones you received were a fluke. I've communicated this to the tiemaker and they will step up their quality control.

I'd like to offer you a $25 credit which should cover your return postage and the inconvenience you have had to face over this issue. You could return the tie for another or spend the credit however you wish.

In November I'll be adding a few new colors, including an orange, but unfortunately it's not burnt orange. It's not easy getting the exact color with the mills that produce the high quality fabrics that I use.

Hi Kent, I'm hoping you can offer an opinion as I'm looking at your navy knit dotted ties to go with a blue & white seersucker suit. I'm wondering if I should stick to the all white dots or would the light blue & white dots work? It would be great to see either "demo'd" - there are no shots showing how they look in use making it a little hard for me to imagine. Of course I can imagine the labor involved if you had to take pics of all of the ties, shirts, etc in use!

If you have a different suggestion to go with a standard seersucker suit I'm all ears as well.

Love the polos and will definitely ask my wife to buy one of them instead of the usual JCrew or Penguins she gets me (and I don't like), the photos posted by members here really look nice and the price isn't out of the ballpark. Any thought of doing a striped collar or other accent? More colors?

Thanks!

A few questions:

Are the light polos (white, yellow, pink, etc...) somewhat see thru, or has that been addressed?

For a 36R, would medium fit well? Don't like too tight, just a good fit.

Where are the OCBD's made?

Thanks

I think either dotted knit tie would look good with that outfit. Sorry I don't have any photos, but the combination is very simple and classic.

Polos: probably won't do a striped collar or other similar accents. I think that's a gimmick that other brands do to differentiate themselves. I feel the quality of the fabrics, the collar, and the MOP buttons differentiate the polo enough.

A very small minority of people (about 1% of sales) find the lighter colors too transparent. I certainly don't have that problem and I am not exactly pale-skinned. It's best to just give it a try.

I wear a 36R and M in the polos.

Woven shirts including the OCBD are made in Singapore and Hong Kong.

Thanks for the quick reply Kent, much appreciated.

To those who have had the polos for a while - how do the collar points hold up? One of my pet peeves on most of my polo shirts is the tips tend to curl in unsightly ways and even ironing the bejesus out of them barely helps.
