Given your experience with Formosa, I'd be VERY curious on a review of KW!

I got the Blue Seersucker. I am a sucker for it. And being in Baton Rouge, it is actually acceptable business wear.

I will gladly review it. I need something in the "reasonable" category. Not impressed with how my SuSu has held up. Hoping for a combination of KW - Formosa (and maybe Eidos) - Despos.

Would be interested in seeing it worn in a business context in this thread.

Asking for opinions, I plan to commission a minnis fresco (0516, midweight) suit soon, I was wondering which canvas would be better for a Minnis Fresco fabric and for drape, standard or soft? Not really sure of the differences. Thanks

Ha--I just (yesterday) faced exactly this question for a fresco suit.  I'm using a heavier weight Minnis Fresco (14oz), but I went soft canvas, and I think I'd do the same for the 10oz versions.

I have a few KW 10oz fresco suits (including 0516) with the standard canvas and they drape well, but I'm sure the soft would be fine too.  Which shoulder construction did you go with (I have two standard and one soft, and an unfunded 0520 that will eventually be either unpadded or roped)?

MTM Sportcoat Question -- for those who've made up KW Sportcoats.... do you stay with your Suit Jacket measurements, or make any adjustments?  (e.g. shorter length).... any guidance would be much appreciated!

I went soft shoulders this go round, which will bring me to two jackets in soft and two in unpadded/unstructured when the suit gets made.

Other than a small tweak to the width of the back, I used identical measurements for my suit jacket as for my sportcoats.

I've never done MTM with KW but I have with other companies in regards to sports coats... I usually go slightly shorter length but that's because sport coats for me are also used in more casual settings too - I don't get way too fashion forward as I like to wear them on casual days at work too, but a little bit shorter than my normal suit length has always worked really well for me, FWIW.

Thank you for your responses @heldentenor  and @atila  -- much appreciated!

@atila -- I haven't received my KW MTM Suit Jacket yet (so I've yet to see how it's made up), but depending on what fabric/weight I end up using for SC (e.g. how much more casual), thinking I may go shorter... how much shorter do you go with your SC vs. Suit Jacket?

Well, here's the thing - I'm short as shit... 5'5 to be exact... so all my 37XS jackets have to be shortened an extra inch (yeah, 1.5-2" additional off "short" jackets). So with my sportcoats I've taken off an extra 1/2" from that and it's always looked great... but I usually am wearing even more tailored pants, no tie, etc. I go with a more casual look altogether, so it ties in well. Also, if it changes anything, I'm 29 years old, and I run my own jewelry store... so I'm not in a conservative environment (but I'm careful to never be too fashion forward). Hope that helps!

Hi atila, I am almost of the same height and find most RTW jackets too long (total length and sleeve length), I find that shortening the sleeve is OK with local tailors but shortening the total length proved to be quite a challenge. sometimes this can't even be done due to proportion problems (buttons, lapels, etc.) Can you recommend any RTW designers that with shorter jacket lengths? I find that some Boglioli/other Italian brand with more casual models have some models with short lengths, but that's hard to find and not come cheap.

This is a very individual-specific decision based on the length of your suit jacket and how it fits you.  There is no universal rule that you always shorten the length when ordering a sport coat.
