, I appreciate the trouble. The lapels look very slim in the photo, but it may be because the waistcoat is lying flat. Do you find they're that slim when you're wearing it, or do they open up a bit?

You're welcome. It's a pretty accurate depiction of their size. The suit has wide lapels, but the waistcoat's are definitely on the slim side. As only a small fraction of them is visible once the jacket is on, I'm not sure the extra bulk of wider lapels would be worthwhile.

Sure, the buttoning point looks pretty low; I can't imagine much of the waistcoat is visible when the jacket is buttoned. Thanks again

Is there are noticeable roll to the vest's lapel? The first button (unless my eyes are going to hell on me) does look quite low. Assuming it's a 4 button option?

You would be correct, the vest only shows a little bit, and I favour a lower buttoning point on my jackets. It's been a while, but I think the jacket is -2 or 3 cm from the trial one.

There is little roll to the vest's lapel; I'm not sure it has any structure at all. It is the 4 button, and there were few options for customization at the time  (not sure if still true). The DB model was not yet offered.

I'm sure I could dig up a picture of them together if you guys like. I don't consider the first button to be super low, but perhaps it could stand to be higher.

I'd appreciate that- I'm getting pretty serious about a KW 3-piece, and it seems like button placement on waistcoats with lapels varies enormously.

Yeah, he's killing it in that picture. I'm curious about where KW lapeled waistcoats fall on this spectrum.

Is the one on the right KW? I could be mistaken, but I don't believe there was much play with the waistcoat when I ordered a couple years ago.

1. I would suspect it is not KW.
2. For whatever it's worth, I don't like Victor's vest at all (much too high) and much prefer the other one...though my ideal for a single breasted vest would lie somewhere in the middle of the two

Sorry, should have clarified; neither is KW to my knowledge. They're just both great suits with vastly differing buttoning points for the waistcoat.

Thanks for the picture, that's very helpful. I think I'd ask to have it raised a touch, if possible, but I'll ask Aaron about that when I get fitted. Those are the standard shoulders and wide lapel?

+1. About halfway between with a nice lapel roll is what I'm hoping to achieve.

Edit: FWIW, I'm aspiring to something like this.

You're welcome. A few new waistcoat options were added since that order, so please let us know if that is an option now. At the time I was most interested in a DB waistcoat.

They are the soft shoulders and wide lapel. I'm considering unpadded for my next order, but I'm a bit self-conscious about my shoulders and worry that it will come off too sloped, as is often the case for people IMHO.

Honestly.. the pictures you've linked are are of suits that are prices 2-5x more expensive than KW.

If you want every little roll and crease to be perfect, then you need to pony up.

Also - Why don't you email KW? I'm sure he knows how the waistcoats fit...

Ah ok. I wish there were perhaps a DB shawl collar waistcoat... but that's getting pretty dandy I suppose.

I hear you. I just want to find out as much as I can about the KW fits, since I'm not ready to pony up more than 2k and pictures of particular KW details are hard to come by. I'm hoping diligence will help me find the best compromises, and KW seems like the best thing around at my price-point. I'll certainly discuss the fit with him, but this seemed like a better first step.

KW can alter the buttoning point, so just let them know where you'd like it
