Kent Wang - Affiliate thread - Page 358

I lowered the buttoning point on my most recent order by 1.5 cm and converted to the 3 roll 2 option.  It made a world of difference in making the wide lapels look more proportional.  I'll try and get some pictures up in the next week or so.

Very nice sir. My local tailor uses the same factory as Kent Wang but I have not been able to really find any real world examples of the "wide" lapel option. You can imagine it's not exactly a very popular choice here in conservative Chicago. Do you mind telling me how tall you are? Thanks

~6 foot, and that's a size 42 jacket.

Thank you sir. I'm also 6 foot but with a 38L/39L jacket. I'm happy there's a visual now.

39-->42 isnt that much of a visual width difference, only 1" total, so wide wouldnt look ridiculous by any means

We have very few KW roped shoulder pics. Good to have one.

Did someone mention that they were looking at green summer jacket options?  If so, i'd love to see what Aaron came up with.  Thanks

I'm intrigued as well.  Aaron informed me that my jacket should be en route, and assuming it fits well, I think my next pieces are a mid-grey VBC suit and a linen or linen blend green summer jacket.

It was me, and Kent is helping me.  He sent me actual image files that I cannot paste in this post.  PM me an email address, and I will forward to you what he sent me.

Yes sir  :nodding:, on my mind.

Thoughts:

  • 70% wool, 15% silk, 15% linen fabric from Drapers, 9 oz weight

Drapers linen

Advantages to a blend, but i might like the color of the linen IRL better.  Hard to know for sure

I emailed that very same NMWA picture to Kent.  No luck thus far in finding anything similar, but I have a feeling that if enough of us ask, we will inspire KW to source something similar for Spring 2017.

I have pants in that fabric. Wish Kent could source Drapers/caccioppoli etc

Do we know why he can't? Or the Italian mills known for being more difficult to obtain cloth from than their English counterparts?

Edit: not a critique, but rather curiosity.

I can't recall the name, but Kent has worked with a merchant with whom you can contact directly and can get a bunch of fabrics.

Is it Merino Brothers?  Kent told me he can get fabric from Harrisons and Huddleston.
