KW's side adjusters is exactly like this:

Can someone please chime in? Navy blue three piece suit, oxblood pin dot tie. Which one of KW's masterful pocket squares would you recommend?

I'm leaning towards star chart Cellarius, but I could be biased since its just so damn cool. Not sure if it goes together with the outfit above.

Thanks!

Hey gang, just received my first KW polo - Lavender (L). Love the texture, buttons are awesome. The fit is interesting - pits are perfect, arm length is perfect, chest has some room and it's quite long. Overall, though, I'm really liking it and will keep it. I am wondering if a M is more my style. I'm 6', 165, 40R, 15.5/39. I know not all bodies are built alike, however.

My main question is how much shrinkage is there with these shirts? Standard for cotton polos?

I tried the polo on in a medium at the trunk show and I'm a 38" chest. I think it would probably be too small for you. I am stockier than you though as I'm only 15lbs lighter but 7" shorter.

My chest measures 37" (I tend to wear 36R) and the M polo is a good fit for me. I would agree with Winston.

Something is wrong when a medium corresponds to a 37" chest.

Here are some better pics and Kent's suggestions. What do you guys think about the seat of the pants? I work in a pretty conservative environment and I worry that I'm showing too much ass? Let them out a bit? Thanks!

Kent's suggestions

Jacket

  • Sleeve length +3 cm. You should double check this as your shirt sleeves look about 1 cm too long. With your arms laying naturally at your side, your shirt sleeve should end at the third joint (base joint) of your thumb. The jacket sleeve should end 1.5 cm above that.
  • Jacket length +2.5 cm. This is usually adjusted about the same amount as the sleeves. It should cover your butt.
  • Waist +2 cm
Trousers
  • How does it feel at the waist, seat, rise, and thigh? Those are common adjustments
  • If you'll measure how long you want the inseam to be, we can hem the trousers for you. It may be more accurate to measure another pair of trousers that fit you well.

Thought I'd post a quick teaser pic of the Kent Wang suit jacket I received yesterday. Threw it on over a t-shirt and it's still wrinkled from shipping. Bad lighting and crappy picture quality, but this gives you an idea of the fit:

Soft shoulders, wide lapels, minimal pick stitching, half-lined. Fabric is 102701, a mid gray twill from Gladson. To me, the color is perfect for a medium gray staple suit and is exactly what I was looking for. Can't attest to the color accuracy of the photo, though the fabric does appear a bit shinier in the pic than it actually is since I was under direct lighting.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased with the quality and fit of the suit. I think I will have the sleeves shortened a quarter inch to show a bit more cuff, but otherwise the jacket needs no alterations. I chose to have the trousers unfinished, so I need to get them hemmed as well as taken in very slightly in the thigh/seat. After I take the suit to the tailor and have it pressed, I'll post some better pictures in full attire.

My next acquisition from Kent will be a navy sport coat. Looking forward to it. Several members have posted about ordering navy sport coats over the past few weeks; please post pictures of your results when you can!

Thanks! Jacket is a 44. I wish the lapels were even wider, as proportionally, these aren't what I would consider "wide". I'm sure they'll appear a bit bigger on your size 38 jacket, and I'm jealous of how they'll look.

I wish the lapels scaled with jacket size instead of being fixed dimensions across the board. Here's an example of wide lapels from Kent's Spring 2013 Lookbook:

^That is how I prefer lapels to look. I can't say what size jacket that is, but it's obviously a lot smaller than mine, as those lapels extend much closer to the shoulder seam. My lapels look rather skinny in comparison. Oh well.

It looks a little short, but it is tough to tell from the photo with what appear to be sweatpants.

If you didn't say those were wide lapels, I would have guessed they were the standard size. But in any case, the fit does look really great. I'd like to see some pics in natural light once you get the full suit tailored and pressed.
