I can't think of any place where you can get a full canvas MTM suit for the price that Kent is offering. I just dropped mine off at the tailor today, and I'll post some fit pics when it's done.
The fit out of the box was great, I just needed some minor alterations done. On the jacket, I'm getting the left sleeve let out about 1cm, and I'm getting the waist suppressed very slightly. All the important measurements were perfect - the shoulder, chest, length, and the lowering of the buttoning point were all spot on according to my requests. The trial jackets only come in Regular lengths and I need a Long, so I'm pretty impressed that the changes made to the pattern came out to a perfectly balanced Long for me. The trial trousers were very tight in the thigh and seat for me, so I increased these measurements pretty significantly on my MTM order, but they came out a little too big. So I'm getting the seat taken in and the thigh slimmed a bit.
All in all, these changes are negligible considering the process was done entirely over email with no fittings outside of the trial suit. I can't recommend his MTM suit program highly enough - if you're on the fence, bite the bullet and place your order now!

We must have very similar body types, because I had pretty much the same changes to make.  PICS!!!

Can anyone who has a pair of Kent Wang Plain toe balmorals comment on the quality of the leather? I am a serious noob when it comes to the area of nice shoes and have only a few pair of Allen Edmonds so far. However, in comparison the AE leather seems much more supple and nicer all around. Do I just not know what I'm judging? I've worn them on carpet for 2 minutes and they are already creasing pretty noticeably. I love the shoes. They are sleek and stylish and fit my foot better than any last on AE I've tried. I want to keep them but want to make sure they are worth the $350 as well.

Thanks in advance!

I can guarantee you that we use better leather than Allen Edmonds. Soft leather doesn't necessarily mean quality. Italian makers tend to prefer softer ones while English makers typically use thicker and therefore stiffer leather. It's simply more sturdy and will age better.

Post pics please!  I'm seriously considering buying a pair and would love to see more pics.

Thanks for the reply, Kent. The AE leather just seems thicker I guess. I wasnt complaining as much as I was just trying to become educated on what quality leather looks and feels like. I love the shoe! It is so comfortable. Will there be more offerings in the future on this last? Also, do your handgrade models fit similarly? I'd love a pair of those single monks!

While we're on the topic of the plain toes, when are they restocking? My size is sold out at the moment ffffuuuu.gif

Yep, pics will be on the way as soon as I get the suit back from my tailor. I just moved and my new tailor is pretty slow, probably will get the suit back on or around Nov. 10.

That is slow.  Hopefully he knows what he is doing.

It's an old Italian couple that's been in business for over 30 years. I've dropped off some of my other trousers to get work done, and they did a great job, prices were reasonable too. Just wish they were a little faster.

Kent: between the navy pindot and the blue umbrellas (both of which I realize are currently sold out), which in your opinion looks better with your trench? I don't want to be too matchy-matchy with the colors, nor do I want to look like I was attempting to match the colors and failed.

The pindot would be better. But I don't think anyone would ever think an umbrella was too matchy-matchy. All umbrellas will be restocked in about two weeks.

Benchgrade shoes will be restocked in about a month.
