I'm sure this is a joke, but somehow I doubt your ego would allow you to be this flexible. Plus, its pretty much too late. There aren't that many guys left to build a good enough team to contend at this point.

You should just concentrate on voodoo or whatever it is you do to make your team hit and pitch better. It's not working, but it's better than nothing.

There is confidence.

And there is overconfidence.

Remind me when the last time was that I said I was going to win the league? Oh yeah, I didn't. I believe second place is approximately how good I'm playing right now. I believe that I predicted a second place finish. So far I'm on track. Me = confidence (and skill, and realistic goals) You = overconfidence (and Jonathan Sanchez!) Didn't we just have this talk about consistent performers? You keep trying to catch lightning in a bottle and you are going to slip even further down the board. I was proud of you for picking up Lannan. He's my type of guy. I guess Sanchez is just to equalize the equation so that you don't actually gain any ground on the rest of us, huh? I guess you are trying to fall back to seventh so that you can get beaten by me in the playoffs... Seems like a solid plan.

Guess who won this week? (To my complete surprise I might add). So now I've won 2 straight weeks against top 3 teams. Too bad I won't get a chance at you till the playoffs.

And allowed you to go into first place. I'll let you buy me a beer when I'm next in Seattle.

To drown my sorrows for slipping back into 7th.

See how long I keep Sanchez...

I'm guessing you'll dump him after he screws you next week. But maybe I'm overestimating you.

He's going to throw another no-hitter.

Josh Willingham, 8 RBIs...1 game. It's never over till it's over, Slim...

So far, that means you have 4 more RBI's total than the second to last place team in the league whom you are playing. Congrats. By the way, you are currently trailing 3-4. See, I told you that you were too stubborn to learn how to win. You probably think Willingham's 8 RBI's are a big deal. He puts up a very mediocre 0.4 RBI a game. He's not helping you all that much. Not that it means anything, its MONDAY night after all, but I am currently schooling the last place Edinatlanta 9-0, while you toil away trying to eke out a win against a 61-85-14 team. I fully admit that it's unlikely that I will sweep poor Ed. Tantalizing target though.

Um... excuse me, but wasn't there supposed to be a trade that cleared today?

Willingham was the hottet hitter available last month (other than Montero). You're just pissed you were caught asleep at the switch.

I can't believe the league let that trade go through.

I've made improvements. I'll be ready for you, but I'll bet someone else knocks you off first. You'll be #4 playing #5.

The trade didn't go through and I'm sort of wondering why.
I really have no desire at all for Willingham. Don't project your bad strategy on me. I already made it pretty clear what kind of players I'm looking for.

Nvmd I think I figured out why it didn't go through. I think I had too many players on roster. Trying it again.

Het commish, is there any particular reason for the excessively long wait time on trades after they've been approved? Just wondering. not bitching.
