Chan DB

Thread Starter
Patrick just tweaked my last commission before setting forth on my new ones, which I hope to have photos of soon. Apologies for the picture quality.

The sleeve pitch is a bit off. Besides that I'd love to hear your thoughts.

According to the fabric label, the cloth is a Scabal S120 wool and cashmere dark grey 3/4" chalkstripe, though I could have sworn it was in the 100s book. I'm not complaining.

I can't believe this went 4 minutes without a reply. It's a pretty dramatic suit, with the high button stance and extreme waist suppression, but I think it looks great.

That could be straight off of Savile Row. It's a very bold suit, and I like it a lot (though I don't think I could pull it off). I really am digging the Chan suits we've seen on the board recently. It seems that the shape of the coats are different with Patrick being the head guy now.

I must say that most suit coats recently exhibited on this Forum lean toward a dramatic cut that features extreme waist suppression and a shorter length than I would not opt for. That being said, it looks very sharp.

Congrats Whoppee!

looks really sharp to me! congrats. could you take an additional pic during the day? i'm not getting much detail on my screen.

As a fellow double-breasted Chan traveler, I must say: that looks sharp. Well done.

the waist suppression looks great, my cup of tea. otherwise the pic is not lit to where I can see anything else. If the one button wasnt reflecting light, I wouldnt know if this was DB or SB, by the photo...so +1 on another pic in better lighting.

Now this is how a DB should look. Love the waist suppression and button stance.

I'm with Johnnynorman in that I'm finding the most recent Chan suits very impressive.

Bottoms of the trouser legs look a little more flared than I prefer. But I'm much stodgier than you. I'm a taper-with-cuffs guy.

The jacket looks to be a very fine example. Congratulations!

I had no idea thin people could look good in a DB until now. Very impressive!

Many would say that DBs work best on the thin.

I'm not sure I'd like to request something of a tailor using the terms "make" and "whoopee" in the same sentence.
