Just learned how to swim the sidestroke last evening, to go with the breaststroke last week. Now only practice stands between me and bad-assness in the pool..

butterfly makes you really feel like a badass, too bad it's the most energy consuming stroke

Yeah... in my swim class, I have learned all the strokes except the butterfly. As the teacher said, the only reason to learn the butterfly is to race or to show off...

haha yeah, but the actual act of swimming it is very graceful and fun. i raced butterfly for swim team but if you do learn how to swim it you deserve to show it off because it really takes a lot of work to get the form down right =D

About 500m of breaststroke and sidestroke last night. My breastroke timing is still a work in progress - at times everything came together and I felt like a fish... at other times, well...

I've started swimming again. About 3/4 hour sessions, which implies about 1200-1500m. Sadly I crashed and tore my eardrum during a waterski session. Can't swim for a month now

Zeno, but I did have a dream where I swam like a fish last night. Wish I am that good of a swimmer in real life.

yeah, me too. I went back today and I can't catch my breath after 200 free where I could swim 5000m free when I was 14, life's a *****.

^Ouch. Hope you get better soon. Waterpolo is one rough sport. I like seeing the underwater shots at the Olympics with the guys kicking and climbing over each other...

outdoor unehated pool to cold to swim at the moment.
I find it really conditioning based though, 3 months out of the pool and i Struggle to do a 2 km circuit in 40 minutes (usually do 30-35 minutes comfortably)
