Cashmere sweater - charchol or light grey?

I recently picked up my first piece of cashmere; a black cardigan sweater and fell in love with the fabric. I'm looking at getting my next piece soon for the upcomming fall and winter season.

I've narrowed my color choices down to either charchol grey or light grey. Which would be the more recommended color? I'm partial to darker colors but I also feel like I should have a greater mix of shades instead of everything being dark. It just seems like light grey would maybe be harder to dress up. A charchol grey sweater would be an excellent thing to wear on an evening out I think. I don't get the same feeling with light grey. I could be way off.

Anyways, what does everyone here recommend?

Is charcoal considered a really dark grey?

I agree that charcoal is the more formal of the two colors but you'll eventually end up with both as they are staples. So, at this point, pick the one that you like better knowing that you'll add the other soon enough.

I have a charcoal gray v-neck that I love. I think that color is very versatile.

Charcoal looks good on just about everyone. Lighter grays can be trickier. As a portnoy says, you'll eventually end up with two different gray sweaters. Right now, pick the one that works better with your coloring.

You do realize that it's spring, right?

As much as I like fall and winter there's no way anyone will get me to start thinking about it yet!

My counsel would differ from those of my peers. Since you already have a darker piece in the form of the black cardigan, I suggest going with the lighter grey.

I think that the charcoal is a better option, as it will look alright to wear a darkish knit with lighter trousers, but weird to wear a light one with dark trousers. Light grey wouldn't suit black or navy, eg.

Incidentally, who made the cashmere cardigans?

I bought it from a store in Vancouver called LG Cashmere. It appears that the brand of the sweater itself is LG Cashmere as well.
