A lot can be added but I really like the selection. What do you guys think?

5 of the 7 from my current list are included...not bad

I've only read 15 of them. Although some of the choices are a little debatable, and the Iliad and the Odyssey definitely could have been separated and kicked Ayn Rand off.

I can't read or write.

There are good books in that list. I've read many of them, and will go back to reread Dostoevsky again.

Decent list. Could say a lot of those are 'cliche' or whatever, but I can't necessarily disagree. There are many books that could be considered more manly, just not as mainstream.

Abhorrent 'philosophy' aside, Rand wrote shitty potboilers with creepy rape scenes. There's no more value to them as fiction than the lastest cat murder mystery A IS FOR ALIBI bullshit.

If one is searching for a good TR bio, read Theodore Roosevelt: A Life, by Nathan Miller.

Hooray for Karamazov!

I'm currently adding a few of them to my Amazon shopping list. I've only looked at the first two pages and I've read 7.

Rather conservative list, no? Just about every book one would expect to see on this list appears here, making it fairly common sense.

Also, very Amerocentric, but most things on the blogosphere are.
