Second Life for a Suit
I am not sure if this thread belongs on this forum, but I guess that those who are interested in clothes and tailoring will appreciate this DIY project: turning a suit into a coat for a (my) little girl. Some of you might have seen this already on Sator's The Cutter and Tailor forum.
My girlfriend (not a professional tailor) is the maker of this coat for our daughter. I took the pictures, wrote the text (including errors"”feel free to correct those), was responsible for the dissection (destruction) of the suit, and helped pick lining, buttons and other details.

The victim:
I was curious what the inside would look like. Well, fusing:
Forgive me for the slaughtering of the suit. I really tried to do a clean job, but my lack of patience and especially skills resulted in this:
(Side question: how does one remove a lining in a clean and fast way?)
Chest piece:

After the dissection. In the front, the fabric to be reused for the coat, in the back, the 'remains':

Fabric and lining (cotton shirting generously donated by my shirt maker, and bemberg for the sleeves):
