Do you have any direct experience with Udeshi ties? How do they compare?

My understanding is that they are RLPL quality silks with somewhat better construction. I will be buying one and will get back to you as to the quality.

I have a couple of his grenadines and I think that they are quite nice. I also have a maroon version of the Marinella grenadine, and it is nice too. I would say that quality is equal. The grenadine weave, however, is very different. Udeshi's is a tighter weave and Marinella's is rather loose.

No experience with the ties but the shirts are absolutely phenomenal

Thank Matt (and guys) for the speedy responses. IIRC, didn't he recently open a Savile Row shop for bespoke?

Matt, did you buy the grenadines from the bestofbritishshirts website? I've been eyeing them for some time and I like a tightly woven grenadine, but I can't decide if "slate" is black or silvery gray, if "shiraz" is actually burgundy or slightly lighter, or exactly how dark a brown the "chocolate" tie is (but they all look yummy). Can you comment on colors of the Udeshi grenadines?

I bought the navy and the camel which are truer to their described colors than they are to their pictures.

I would suggest that you ask them to pack the ties carefully as mine too a good long while to hang out the creases from shipping.

I am wearing an Udeshi (true) seven-fold right now. It's truly cool. I don't think he's opened a Savile Row shop but he has a shop on Davies St in the West End near Berkeley Square which showcases his stuff well (as well as a tasty library of style books). Quality is excellent, Oscar is frank, charming and a truly decent human being. The stuff is high quality and designed very well, with a real flair for detail and color -- witness the cufflinks.

Not what I meant. I meant that the more simple you get with things the more important quality is.
