Non Allergenic Cat

Does anyone know where i can get a non allergenic cat. I live near NYC and i am moderately allergic and my girl friend wants to get one. Any information/advise would help.

actually you are allergic to proteines of cats, so even the smallest dander will cause problems with your immune system. your only help is a hyposensitization and cleaning your house very regularly. if you don't you will sooner or later need cortisone and develop many more allergies ..

A friend of mine has a hairless cat and i am still allergic to it. I have heard of people getting genetically engineered cats but i think they are very expensive so its probably not worth it.
