For anyone still looking for options, The London Lounge is thinking of getting a Donegal done for next fall.

Correct. Here's a photo of the gray. There also might be a brown.

Bookster has some Donegals from Magee just in. I have chosen the Moss Rust Check for a coat myself although it is not a Donegal. http://www.tweed-jacket.com/CLOTH%20...LERY/index.htm

I was actually also looking at the 62017 or the 62025 (stone with orange flecks). However, I am a bit hesitant to order an 18oz weight. Could anyone comment on how the heavy Thornproof wears? It would be for UK autumn/winter.

This book (SherryTweed) has performed well for me: http://www.hollandandsherry.com/apparel/collections.aspx?season=AW2011&details=HS1188

Is that brown, or more of a tan/beige? I've been contemplating the beige and brown Magee donegals at Bookster (as well as the Porter & Harding brown thornproof), but can't get off the fence. I was originally thinking of a brown herringbone, but I can't seem to find the right shade. On the other hand, a donegal seems almost too plain... confused.gif

It's a medium brown. The third one on top is a dark brown. Lots of orange and blue flecks.

Pity my crappy cellphone pics don't do it justice

^I have four jackets from the Sherry Tweed collection, including the brown donegal third from the top in the photo posted, so obviously I like 'em. The olive-tinged one just below it would also be appealing were I not very well supplied with jackets in that 11-12 ounce range. I note that Chan no longer seems to bring the Sherry Tweed book on their recent tours.

Chan will bring along specific books if you email well in advance of a tour. They'll even obtain a book they don't have if it's from a merchant they already use.
