Lands' End Canvas - Page 23

Anyone who has the Shawl collar sweater or the rugby shirt able to post chest measurements?
I'm wondering if I should size down.

LE sizes are generous -- think BB traditional fit -- but not quite as wide -- def. size down if you often wear two sizes. I wear L or M depending and I don't think I've ever been a LE L.

the rugby is sturdy but the navy is real close to black. good for your 1940s criminal costume.

"Generous"? - wrong. Regular LE may be bigger, but Canvas is nowhere near as big as BB traditional and is closer to say Jcrew but slightly slimmer and shorter (see above measurements).

Some nice shirts in their fall collection specially, more colors in chambray shirts, oxford shirts, and poplin shirts, and slim fit chinos.

The clothing often looks fairly baggy in the pics :/

Note to LE folk: Please look at how your competitors present photos of shoes, bags and accessories. If some dude on EBay can give me an idea at how his used Bostonians look from different angles, you should be able to do the same.

You can't really go by the pics. For example- I've tried on both the sweatshirt and the rugby, and while they both look kinda baggy in the pics only the sweatshirt was huge... the rugby was actually quite slim.

where are you getting 7.5 from?

^I guess it's just me. Being a J.Crew XS and similar makes most things end up seeming baggy to me.

New items out for Fall...

Selvedge chambray shirt, although presented in the most unflattering, staid manner.

The knits seem interesting though.

New stuff is quite nice. I bought the rugby on sale and a polo for my wife; both are excellent garments.

Yeah, for the price I think the Canvas stuff is quite excellent. Decent materials and surprisingly good construction. I have two oxfords, a poplin and two chambray shirts (new red one is great) as well as a pair of shorts and khakis. Very happy with each piece really. We have a store downtown Madison here, looking forward to checking out new selvage chambray whenever get it in.

Let me know if you find a few choice pieces and if they fit well. I might decide to make the hour and a half trek.
