what does "arrives minimally packaged" mean? They throw it in a paper bag and stick some stamps on it??

I am guessing no collar support, no plastic "butterfly" on collar button, no pins on the shirt, unironed. Basically how your shirt looks right out of the dryer.

The Oxford Shirt in a Size Small is recommended for a body chest measuring 35-37 but with a garment chest measuring 42 1/2.
I imagine the Chambrays are probably sized the same? I really like the blue stripe one but 42 1/2 would be huge on me. I don't get their sizing, my chest is in the range of 35-37 but I would never wear a shirt measuring 42 1/2. Most of my shirts are between 40 and 41 (42 at the absolute largest).

Thanks for posting this... I made my order yesterday with a free shipping coupon. Called just now and got the add'l 25% price adjustment. Surprisingly when you call the 800 number, an actual person picks up right then. Told the rep that I just found a 25% coupon. She looked up my order and said it already shipped (wow, I order made late afternoon PST yesterday), but no problem. Didn't even ask for the code+pin. She simply calculated the number and told me what would be refunded to my cc. Great customer service! I asked about how the launch has gone and she said better than expectations especially considering the Canvas site isn't directly visible through the normal LE site. Everyone is finding it through word-of-mouth. Right now the line is pretty limited but more stuff to come in the spring.

Can a mod change whodini's title to "minimally packaged"?

I was thinking about getting a few shirts, but sizing seems huge. If this is right: "The Oxford Shirt in a Size Small is recommended for a body chest measuring 35-37 but with a garment chest measuring 42 1/2. " Then their small is equivalent to a J.Crew medium, which runs big itself. So a small is like a M/L in normal brands, this just seems ridiculous -I'd need an x-small if this is true which they don't make (I usually were medium, but small in jcrew). If somebody gets these shirts, let us know if they are as huge as said measurements. in short: 42.5" chest is HUGE for a small. I'm usually a medium and usually wear shirts with 40" chest.

There's some decent looking stuff on the site, and you can't beat those prices. But I would have to see this stuff in r/l before pulling the trigger. Regular LL Bean stuff has never impressed me much because of fit.

wow - this stuff is interesting. I have always found that if you pick carefully, you can find some nice things on Lands End. I don't like everything here, but they have a few decent pieces.

And put me on the side of LE quality over J Crew. I don't always like LE styles, but their stuff lasts forever.

I ordered smalls so I'll measure mine when they arrive.

bought the macneil's and the cotton peacoat, we'll see how they look. sf makes me spend on myself more than i should.

thanks for the coupon, b-ill

Because of SF i've lost the clothes-spending moral high ground when arguing with the wife Fortunately I still dress casually 95% of the time. If I ever had to wear suits on a daily basis and started getting into the stuff on the MC side, it could be real dangerous...

I'm pretty interested in the peacoat too. Let me how you like it.

damn, they could give J. Crew a run for the money! If there were a b&m near me, I'd be a sucker for this shit, esp at those prices.
