Itching While Running - Page 2

Uh, I'm no doctor but you said it happens when you just begin to sweat. That isn't as uncommon as people here seem to being making it appear. This is really basic, if you're not a big sweater, right when you "begin" to sweat the pores will open up and you will get a slight itch, for some people it's a big itch.

Me, I sweat from my lower back and quads, that's where I get the itch. I find this thread really weird because this is the kind of thing we were taught in Elementary School gym, and I imagine plenty of you have gone through that...

Make sure its a non-drowsy allergy medication. It sort of defeats the purpose if every time you go running, you just get sleepy and take a nap instead!

I was never taught this in elementary school but I also always assumed that this was the case. For me it only really happens after long periods of inactivity, then it goes away. Its pretty mild for me, so never really though it was unusual. wouldn't worry about it.

For the record, it WAS Canadian elementary school, just in case that kills the credibility!

best solution - lotion up before exercising.

I get a tingling sensation in my torso/legs if I run for the first time in a few months, but it goes away the second or third time I run.

I have read that itching sometimes occurs because of blood rushing into the capillaries, something that is unusual if you aren't terribly active. So power through it? I had this really bad in highschool, but since I started running again as an adult I haven't noticed any undue itching.

I think for me it falls under the category of it happening due to inactivity. For me it would happen in my legs and lower abdomen when I first started working out/running.

It could be detergent you are using to wash your clothes. Did you switch recently at all? Not sure but this was the case for me about a year ago and I switched back and it stopped. Also go with what others are suggesting, put on lotion before going out on a run, could just be dry skin.
