Apparantly great gourmet cuisine isn't your favourite subject.

When I eat a sandwich (aka cold-cut meat on bread), I require chips. For some reason, I can dislike a sandwich by itself, then instantly love it when accompanied by chips.

I agree.

Mmmm, Dutch sandwiches are greaaaaat... A single slice of ham or cheese on a spongy bun with little to no toppings, and washed down with milk. Its like a flavour bonanza.

Dutch cheese is good on a bun. But definately no milk on the side for me.
I'd go with a ginger beer.

+ a BIG 1

I feel exactly the same about sandwiches. I find it hard to eat a sandwich without some kind of chip as a side.

My girlfriend thinks I'm the only person in the world who feels this way about the pairing. I will have to forward her this thread!

That picture certainly looks pretty awesome.

Regular chips are the epitome of junk to me. I never eat them. If I have a sandwich I'll have it with extra meat or some milk or something. Fries - maybe, sometimes. But bagged chips? Screw that. Homemade is another story. I just made a small batch for myself last night (good potatoes + olive oil + sea salt + fresh pepper + oven) and they were delicious. Anyways, this is why you're fat.

I don't like potato chips, save Pringles. Not big on sandwiches, either. I'm quite the heathen.

It's an even more natural pairing than burger and fries. Who doesn't love putting some of the chips in the sandwich for that one-of-a-kind crunch?

Unfortunately, the carbs get a bit out of control with both the sandwich and chips, so I have to limit the pairing to the occasional meeting.
