I think the best part about those shoes is how far inside Plotter's head they got. I'm assuming that aspect of the purchase alone justified the price to SoCal. Man, if you could step outside your own venom for a minute and read your posts you'd see how ridiculous you sound. There are some people that post in WAYW that have seriously well-made, expensive, bespoke stuff that I think looks clownish. What happens if you somehow conclusively determine that the shoes are not made to the highest standard? I can find you a lot of stuff in the clothing world that is overpriced vs. build quality - or put another way, for which you pay a premium based on the designer/manufacturer/associated name. So what? Does that make it any less dumb of a purchase than a nike golf shirt when a comparable unlabeled shirt (or distressed vs. shrink to fit jeans) can be had for less? To each his own.
