Awesome pics. The more I see these, they do NOT look like a normal Alden last. What last are they supposedly on again? They look way too modern to be Alden.

I got my boots today from Leather Soul. The look like something you would wear if you were alive in the 1800s. I love 'em!

they are on the plaza last , but trust me , these are still in the gunboat genre of shoes.

not particularly the last per se, as i closely observed, it is the extended double sole welt that particularly makes these look gunboaty or 'blobby'

it is a bit sleeker than the BARRIE ,indeed, but just be forewarned, the plaza boots are not sleek in the toebox at all.

but the overall look does impart a sort of elegant sleekness due to the curves of the boot

I'm guessing it's still outnumbered by RM Williams. Several people bought Cristiano Gualtieri chelseas in the previous Yoox sale too. And there's been a lot of bal boot Appreciation lately ...

This one is probably a safe bet.

The RM Williams was so enfuriating for some due to the sizing.

Right now I just had a perverted vision of a full shell cordovan balmoral boot.

but barring that coming to fruition, these Aldens definitely deserve to be the Forum Boot.

Hey what would you guys think of a snuff suede or alpine grain brown version of the boots? Maybe with a commando sole? Looking to order a few more variations of these this week and would love some input.

Personally, I'm loving those boots exactly as they are. If you make up another run of them, I'll be trying to get a pair held for me as soon as I find out what my size is. I keep wanting to call them gorgeous, but stopping myself because it's the term you yourself used when describing them on the website

As far as Alden sizing in Seattle, I heard tell of plans for subleasing of a store downtown somewhere to carry some Aldens. Does anyone have any additional information about this?

I haven't been following this thread, but it sounds like folks have been posting pictures of balmoral boots lately. Time to start diving backwards through the thread...

I think it's a great design and last, so it would work well in suede or calf. I really don't like commando soles though, so I'd stick with the double leather (or even single leather for suede). I still would like to have the cordovan version but I can't quite justify it yet.

They are quite a chisel. I usually only wear Chelsea boots with the occasional low spectator shoe in summer, but even in the summer, I'll wear Chelseas.

I vote more cordovan for those of us who missed their size.
