This sounds interesting. Did you buy this model or do you have a pic to share?

In fairness Trickers make a fantastic country shoe. Not my style at all but I have been to the factory shop a few times, you are almost guaranteed to see a few members of the minor British aristocracy whilst you are there. They have that aesthetic down pat. The good news is if you like that style you can fly to the greatest country in the world, buy a few shoes, take in a fine meal, maybe a club or two, fly back and still be up on the deal.

Why would he fly to NYC if he is already here?

As much as I think the guy is a charlatan anyone who could get away with what he does (have good manufacturers make products to his specs and then charge 3-4 times what said manufacturer would charge), would do it. A friend gave me a pair of Browne tuxedo pants to sell for him and they are very nicely made. Retail on them you ask, only $825 I'm sure there are a lot of designers who wish they can get away with $800 pants.

True. Billionaire Couture sold trousers for 2000 pounds... RTW... but I think Billionaire Couture is going out of business. Thom certainly has marketing savvy. I predict a Mr. Fish-like flameout to his meteoric rise in, oh, three years.

I wouldn't say the doc martens are an acceptably similar alternative. But, I do think that $100 deadstock Florsheims are.

Possibly right. For myself, I would wear those TB shoes with jeans, so the Docs would work for me as an alternative.

The Florsheim Kenmore meets Tricker's, prices added together then doubled.

Damn. That's way over-priced. I rarely post pointless, negative comments about people's things, but TB brings it out of me. You should have saved that money for the upcoming GG show and spent it supporting a quality maker instead of lousy designer. You'd think that for 1250 they'd give you a finished shoe (with channeled sole). =/
