The spectator is spectacular! Are they Sargent/Peal? How do you polish them?

The JL Chelmer is gorgeous. 1105 last? I haven't seen a JL boot tree before, do you know what last it's crafted on?

Couldn't agree more Mussell...the Chelmer is on the 4800 and is spectacular. I got one in dark brown a while back. Here it is with the Sandon in dark brown suede, the Vintage 2002 and the Sutton.

Unfortunately Z, we've covered the 4800, there are no other models to add.

The boot tree is killer. I need a few of those myself.

Yes, they are Sargent/Peal. I like them a lot too, and I got tons of comments yesterday when I wore them. I think when I polish the black calf, I will scoth tape over the nubuck so that flakes of polish don't get on there. The bigger question is how to clean the white nubuck(?) I've scuffed it already

Yes, the boot trees look really good in the boots. Just a word of caution though - they don't come in exact sizes. Just small, medium and large.

And the trees you see in the Chelmer are the new JL shoe trees. I like them MUCH better than the old ones. They are basically the same new Edward Green for RLPL trees, similar design, but the fit is much tighter - quite perfect.

Thanks for the info Z. I guess a medium boot tree would probably suit anything in the size UK7.5-8.5 range. I'm also glad to see that Lobb has gone to a new model standard tree ala EG.

zip - these prototypes have interesting similarities with my Heddon... (apron shape, last, calf...)

Those Heddons are very cool. I am looking for some rubber-soled shoes, and I think those would be great with rubber soles.

I looove the 8000. Fits me so well and looks great.

Agree - my favorite last ever ! Let's just hope JL makes more models on that one
