The shoes in the pic are so shiny because they are display models and have been spit polished to a very high degree. They cannot be worn like that because the wax would disintegrate the first time the leather flexes. Anyone who has seen the bespoke samples at the Lattanzi store in NY will know what I mean.

Brian, jjgold, Materna doesn't make RTW, only MTM and bespoke. They don't even have a spare pair for me to try on for sizes. Materna has website, it's listed in the comprehensive shoe link thread. Here's the price list:

p1020210hk3.jpg

Bespoke €1,532 for the first pair and €1,007 for any subsequent pair, handmade MTM €625. Prices include VAT, to subtract VAT divide the price by 1.2, so the prices are very reasonable consider a pair of EG RLPL retails for $1050 plus tax.

Brian, the full brogue that you found so amazing also comes with a half brogue, made on the same last, it's the one one the right, side view. So are they decadent enough for you?

are they decadent enough? these are the most perfect black semi brogues I have ever seen!
only approx. $1595 (USD) ?? that is only a couple more hundred over a RTW JL Prestige!

i am definitely wanting to dump some of my shoes for a pair of those.

Bengal, love your bespoke Materna boots, they remind me of the brogue boots made by EG for Asprey.

what do you mean by price?

if you are referring to my shoes, i was just speaking rhetorically . sort of.

the thing about these and alot of bespokes shoes is twofold:

1)the top grain leathers used in a fantastic mirror finish

2) the shape of the vamp towards the arch. it is more emphasized in the depression of the outer arch to quarter area and very emphasized in the inner arch top. the lasting is superior.
