Whats the appeal of laces? It's all in the eye of the beholder

Perhaps but the shoe in question has BOTH. And I've seen some w/ fake laces (or something to that effect).

I believe so, but IIRC none of the leather swatches have that name, rather the name of that color on the swatch is something like rose noir.

I kind of like them for the mere fact that they are something different while remaining classic.

That looks like a ghastly 1970s number. Stack the heels, iron flares, adjust kipper tie!

Nope.............The term 'Blobbs' is only allowed for John Lobb (London). Those samples are John Lobb (Paris).

I picked up these sohos on a recent trip to NYC. I have only worn them once and then had clickers placed on the heels. I've noticed a "warping" and not sure as to why this happened. They fit great and I use shoe trees. Wondering what might have caused this?

Are these samples for JLP RTW, or bespoke? I find them all beautiful.

The ones Kuro posted should be JLP bespoke. Would these be the Fall 2009 RTW models: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XaV27AoBMp...h/P1030228.JPG The pair on the right looks like a Vintage 2004 clone. Is the pair on far left the Sutton replacement- Lazenby or something? The pictures were googled from this website: http://lyramag.blogspot.com/2009/04/...r-bespoke.html

That blog shows John Lobb (Paris), bespoke as well as ready-to-wear. Obviously those pictures were taken at some (I presume, bespoke) trunk show ,where they also featured a number of RTW models.

The difference between the two will be apparent immediately, when you see the shoes "˜in the flesh'. But in the pictures, look out for the shoe trees: the ones with the brass knob are RTW, the one with the finger hole are bespoke. Bespoke shoes are marked with a "˜handwritten' John Lobb, while RTW have that John Lobb "˜JL' logo.

I also believe (although I'm not sure, if this is totally consistent), that the bespoke shoes have the back section and the "˜sock' lined with coloured leathers, while the RTW are lined throughout with pale, neutral lining leathers.

Hope that helps.

Japanese shoe makers know how to make sick shoes with side gussets. Perhaps G&G bespoke could make a pair that would look elegant.
