How much cash do you carry? - Page 3

I try and have about $100 on me. I also hate small timers paying for a $4.35 transaction with a debit card. Also, there are plenty of transactions where I like to leave a tip and prefer to leave a cash one than a number on a credit card slip.

My bank ATM has the fast cash option of $40 so I usually never carry more than that. Most of my cash is just for coffee or leaving tips.

it is very rare i carry any cash. i dont remember the last time i saw a twenty.

I have an "I.O.U." that's been driving me f**king mad-crazy! - other than that.., I usually carry around $100.00

ATMs are everywhere and my bank refunds all ATM charges.

I use a credit card for everything, with many recurring bill showing up directly as a card charge. I write 3-4 checks a month. If I need cash, I find the nearest ATM.

My wallet contains driver's license, ATM card, 2 credit cards and health insurance card.

And no more than $20 in currency.

It depends on where I am in the world. If Im in the US and developed countries I almost never carry cash with me. If Im in Asia or Africa, I have at least $500 USD tucked away somewhere and $500 worth of foreign currencies tucked away in the country's currency. I dress down when I am in third world countries and is very difficult to surmise that I have that amount of cash on me.

I'm in the Third World every so often and I'm always shocked how easy it is to pay with a card or to find an ATM. In the Sahara where I arrived on a camel. . . and the Berbers took plastic.

It should be so easy in the USA.
