Long Term Parking at Airports

I'm sure someone here has experience with this, given all the travel you guys do. I will be leaving out of the Oakland Airport on Friday morning, around 4 AM. My car will be parked there until Monday evening until around 10 PM. A few questions:
1) Any idea how much I'd be paying for ~90 hours of parking at the airport?
2) Would I be smarter to park somewhere else- ie, is there any kind of longterm parking outside of the airport?
3)Any general tips to make the experience better?
Or
4) Should I just prepare to get financially raped **********?

long term parking is about $12-$15 a day. If you park at private lots there are coupons you can get from the internet for $10 per day. I usually use SFO and park at Park and Fly.

Long term parking lots outside of the airport within close vicinity are rare since the airport doesn't want anyone getting in on their business. 3)Any general tips to make the experience better? Bring lube Or 4) Should I just prepare to get financially raped **********? Arrive bent over. Saves stress on the back.

+1. I know security at the airports I fly out of is fine, not to say that it is the same way at other airports. I still wouldn't feel too great leaving my car in a long-term lot for more than a week.

Not to mention it will most likely cost you a metric fuckton. Suck it up, take the cab, and don't worry about the parking.

You guys are telling me to take a cab for a two hour drive on the way to the airport and a two hour drive on the way back? I have to believe parking would save me money.

I've left my vehicle, several times, for a week or more at an off site long term parking lot. Very cheap, $10 or so a day, and a shuttle to the door.

Do the math. Go to the airport website, find out what long term costs, figure out how much it costs to drive there, park, and drive back, and then see if you can find a taxi or shuttle or bus that is cheaper.

Long term parking rates vary greatly by airports. At EWR, it costs ~$30/day, which is ridiculous. Raleigh airport, its about $10/day. So...look up the long term parking info for Oakland airport. Its pretty standard stuff: Drive to the airport, park it in the long term parking lot of your choice, take the shuttle or whatever the airport has to the terminal, and do the opposite on the way back. Keep in mind that the rate is charged per day, so you will pay for 4 days.

Scratch that, then. Didn't realize it was that long of a drive.

All of which are most likely cheaper than the airport lot. The only one I have personally used is Avistar at LGA, though.

I'm tired. will you do the math for me? Oakland airport. Driving from Santa Rosa to Oakland Airport, get about 27 mpg, at $2.85 a gallon.

Yes, I'll do the math for you. My normal rate is $180 an hour, charged by full hours only of course. I'll need half up front, plan on 1 hour.

No problem. Just confirm that you don't need a reservation to park there (if you do, make one) and that they have a shuttle to the airport terminal. I have yet to see one that doesn't, but it's still something I would confirm before I end up there.

For a 2 hr drive you're better off finding a parking place with a shuttle service. How far out in the boonies are you? I don't think I've ever been more than 45 minutes from even a minor airport.
