Riding a stationary bike - Page 2

I only ride for 30 min at a time. I don't get terrible numbness, but when I feel it starting I'll just stand and pedal for a while until it goes away, has seemed to work for me.

While on my road bike I don't think I've ever felt numbness, but this is probably because of a higher quality seat, and riding while standing very frequently.

I went riding yesterday for the first time in about 6 months (it's too hot in FL to ride in the summer... unless I wake up at 4 am to go biking), for about an hour and while my joints are definitely feeling the sensation from riding, but my ass was not numb at all, during riding, or afterwards.

Perhaps the front of the seat is too high. Adjusting the tilt of the seat to get the front to a bit lower than the back usually helps with this problem. Standing up on the pedals every 10 minutes or so will also help.

this should fix the numbness problem but may cause other minor issues...

i concur you should be on a wider seat and less angled

My experience just the opposite. This always happens to me on wider ("comfort") saddles, but never on my actual nice, narrow saddle on my mtn. bike. I think it's cutting off some artery or vein in the back of my leg.
