Riding a stationary bike

When I ride a stationary bike when I work out for more than 20min ( I like to ride for 50min) but my privates become numb (all three of them the P and Bs)

am I doing something wrong?
am I going to have some damage?
I'm trying to lose weight since I gained it (20lbs) is that extra weight causeing it when I sitting on the bike.

I do stand up every time minutes now and it work but it still get numb if I don't ride and stand for a for minutes

you could try adjusting the height and the angle of the seat.

Definitely a seat issue.

+1 on it being a saddle issue. Ideally you would get someone who's familiar with road bike fit (there are measurements and some math involved) to take a look at your position on the bike. If that's not feasible just increase the height to the point where your leg is almost straight when the pedal is at the lowest position.

I couldn't help but laugh at this, hahaha.

this is what you call a PBJ issue (Penis/ball jam)
i concur you should be on a wider seat and less angled

Thanks for the input.
its the bikes at the gym. they don't have too much ajusting.
I will try to make the the seat higher and see if it works.
The are two workout bike that I like that have different seats.
the one that I get numb on uses a narrow seat while the other bike has a wider seat

the wider seat hurts the back of my thighs from the constant up and down.

Does this happen to anyone else?

???

Good road bike saddles are anything but wide:

This is definitely a seat issue. You can do permanent damage - very active bike riders can get impotence. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/10/04/he...bike.html?_r=1.

Interesting, but I used to ride at least 3 hours every week and can still get as hard as a rock... so YMMV.

I can still get hard so that good and I its good to know other have the same problem.

I'm going to adjust the seat higher and see if that works.
I must be sitting on a vien that doesnot let blood floor

thanks for the help

Maybe I'm sitting to far front of the bike seat

Fold a towel in half and put the towel over the seat if the seat is to hard. Some cheap seats have no padding for comfort.

I've been training on a stationary bike for years and I've found that no amount of conditioning will completely guard you from numbness. However, my suggestion is to get out of the saddle for a minute or so until feeling comes back. I don't actually know if this is the most healthy way to do it, but I'm sure that it is more healthy than cutting off blood flow to your junk completely for 50 minutes at a time.
