Both of Roach's fighters won their fights in my city last weekend. The first won cause the other corner threw in the towel, and the second managed to KO the other fighter in the very last second of the round.

Haye - Ruiz and Hopkins - Roy Jones, tonight. Naturally, I'm more excited about the Haye fight. Odds are on the Hayemaker but I sense some doubt in his own mind. Could just be some reverse psychology. Got really horrible images of Haye getting suckered in the clinch and stumbling around like a baby giraffe. Let's hope he manages to ping Ruiz early and knock the 'quiet man' out.

Do you think Jones has what it takes to pull off his puncher's chance against Hopkins at this stage or will it be a one sided beating?

I know the heavyweight division has been pretty dull the past couple of years, but what do you guys think of David Tua's comeback? I remember 10 years ago he was outboxed by Lennox Lewis, but now that he's not around, i don't think there's anyone in the division with that much skill. The problem is it's gonna be really difficult for him to get enough fights. Even if people don't rate him, not many are gonna want to fight him because of the risk he poses with his power (remember when he destroyed Ruiz in 10 seconds?).

Anyone check David Haye's win against Ruiz? Absolutely dismantled. Phenomenal punching power and angles. Classy. @TyCoon: For me it's difficult to say. Always preferred Jones but his boxing merits clearly haven't translated to middle-age. Hopkins will probably win.

Looks like it's going to be a shut out win for Bernard Hopkins. Jones can only win by KO now, but Hopkins is too smart to let that happen. He's up there with Mayweather and Marquez in ring IQ.

Blech. People complain that grappling in MMA is boring, but at least there it can end a fight. In boxing grappling is just stalling. This fight is lame, lame lame, nothing but grab jab grab.

The main point for me is this. The people who bought this shit along with The Uneventful Event are basically saying to all the boxing promotional companies that it doesn't matter how shit the undercard is, it doesn't matter how shit or irrelevant the main event is, we will just fucking buy it anyway!

The rubbish cards at ridiculous prices will never stop while people like you guys buy any old crap with your hard earned money.

Obviously you are free to do with your money whatever you wish, but buying fucking rubbish like this isn't helping boxing in any way at all. You all moan that boxing is dying and one of the main reasons for this is because its almost impossible to get a decent card on free tv these days. That will never change while you guys just open up your arses to be raped with cards like this that had zero relevance in the sport. Zero!

Just caught a glimpse of that. Other than the rabbit punch Haye did on Ruiz in rd 1 I have no complaints. Finally a heavyweight who can fight off the back foot.

You all? How do you know anyone one this board even paid for or watched the fight? I caught a few rounds on Veetle. As for "moaning that boxing is dying", I don't hear much of that around these parts in fact, you're the main boxing cheerleader here.

Last night and The Uneventful Event are two bad apples in the bunch. That's what happens when fighters have the power to cherry pick because their fans will still watch them no matter whose in front of them.

Boxing's striking generally makes it much moar exciting in UFC. I have no problem watching tactical thinking man chess matches like Hearns-Benitez, all out brawls like Hearns-Hagler that give most people a hard on from all the brain damage going on, or a mixture of both like Hearns-Leonard I.

I don't like stupid fights like last night or The Uneventful Event either.

Congrats to Sergio Martinez, the new lineal Middleweight Champ! The slick, illusive, and agile coutner puncher was too classy for the flat footed Pavlik! He did it at 35! Slicksters have a longer shelf life. The future looks bright for Martinez with a few potential fights on the Horizon: Williams vs Cintron winner Cotto vs Foreman winner Antonio Margocheato rematch Williams is most likely to happen if he wins against Cintron.

Madness. Kills himself the day after he admits to killing his wife.
27-0-0 27KO's. Would've loved to see him fight in the states.
