thanks man, the house is pretty small but the design is pleasant enough. It lends itself to interesting compact furniture, so I've been looking at old stuff because of the dimensional requirements (elevator is really small too) - got a G Plan teak dining table from the '50's coming this afternoon. Need to find a sofa and then it'll be on to the knick knacks.

My school has a few old eames stacking chairs laying around that I wish I could take smile.gif

How's the fiberglass?

Have you seen how to restore the luster with some penetrol?

You can take a pretty nasty looking fiberglass shell and make it pretty again smile.gif

This is mostly why I got these headphones. Plus, they were also on sale for $32.00. icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Wow, that's a pretty crazy restoration lol
Unless mine is super nasty I don't really plan on restoring it. I'm just the type of person who thinks a 50 year old chair looking brand new is kind of odd and believe small wear adds character. Obviously if it was in the same shape as that link it'll be a different story smile.gif
It comes on Friday so I'll let you know how it looks. I'll post pics once the rocker base come in and I get it all set up.

Did I read somewhere that you planned to buy an Eames rocker? My favorite piece of furniture, I say so it.

went down to the herman miller/vitra shop and they were sold out of them. No rush to buy I guess.

I need a sofa right now, the real licensed stuff is insanely expensive in Japan, like $20K for a sofa. frown.gif

Snapped a quick pic before I left for the weekend.
Now just waiting on the rocker base to come in and I'm set.

Went with this color:

What's wrong with just using a wooden plank? ..the traditional Japanese 'sofa' I believe.
