At the time, I thought the betamax was better, but I was young, so I can't be sure now. I wanted the betamax because I heard you could record copy after copy of a tape, and the quality wouldn't degrade over generations. I never did really copy anything, though!

actually, the beta format IS better than the vhs format according to some people in the broadcast industry i knew before. vhs just got the upper hand in the united states and japan that's why beta didn't fly off. kinda like sony's minidisc in the 90s...

I was plagued by the unprofessional habit of forgetting my business cards when attending meetings, and this was the only cure. I got one in a pattern that matches my money clip. It is currently being engraved at Tiffany in Ginza.

I had an opportunity to buy a Jaquet Droz Tonneau GMT... one of the most gorgeous watches for (well) under 10k I've ever seen. I am soooooooooooooo pissed someone else snatched it before I could buy... the buyer left his number on the forum but it was Sunday and I felt bad calling him, so I waited and heard the tragic news... I'll never see one of these watches again probably...

Was it some sort of one-off or just a rare edition? I don't really know (my taste in watches is more little plebeian and dare I say it practical - and I don't have the money for that stuff )

I hope it wasn't a one off... although JD does make one offs.
