My favorite is mount gay extra old. Apparently I need to get a bottle of Zaya though.

You'll really like Zaya. Also keep an eye out for Vizcaya from Dominican Republic. It's readily available and about $40US retail. It is very elegant.

After all the buzz in this thread I've opened my bottle of Plantation 20th Anniversary Extra Old yesterday. Really good, very smooth.

I always wonder how many rum out of the Dominican Republic there as all you see in the shops there is Brugal, Barcelo and Bermudez.

Just picked up a bottle of Saint James Vieux Ambre...never had an agricole before, so figured I'd take the plunge.

Just reviewed my booze closet and while I'm nowhere near cuffthis, I still feel somehow that I have too much rum:

Pyrat XO Reserve
Ron Zacapa 23
Ron Zacapa X.O
Brugal Siglo de Oro
Brugal Extra Viejo
Appleton Estate Extra
Mount Gay Extra Old
Ron Bermudez Aniversario
Plantation 20th Anniversary Extra Old
Barceló Imperial
Barceló Añejo
Barceló Extra Añejo
Rhum Barbancourt 5-star 15 years
Angostura 1824
Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva
Bacardi 8 years
Pampero Aniversario
Havana Club 7 years
Santa Teresa 1796 Antiguo de Solera
Ron Matusalem 15 Gran Reserva

In the end I usually drink the Zacapa 23 neat and the Barceló Imperial for mixing.

Okay, decision time: If I already have and enjoy Zacapa 23 and Planation 20th XO - is adding Zacapa XO still worthwhile?

at typical prices the X.O is not worth the surcharge over the 23 in my opinion. If you find a good deal, go for it!

*sigh*. If it's not colognes, it's booze.

Okay, a bottle of Plantation Reserve 5-year is now in my possession. I may have to wait on the Zacapa XO, for at least a few weeks.

I bought some Barbancourt today, it's really quite nice. I don't know if it's as good as Zacapa 23, but it's also half the price.
