Men Who Stare at Goats - Page 3

Well, I actually enjoyed this movie ....

what exactly were the problems with this movie that made you guys hate it so much?

I think when viewed as a surrealistic / dark humor movie it was pretty good.....I doubt it was supposed to be a 'regular' movie. I mean look at the title ffs

i laughed a lot. i was drunk as hell, though, since they serve beers in the theater. i like all of those actors and their individual performances were great. as a whole, they should have just gone with the chaotic randomblast comedy approach than try to attach some moral or story to it. it seemed like someone was trying to follow the coen brothers formula and missed the mark. this movie had lots of potential but ultimately fell short for me.

The movie tries too hard to be clever in a hipster sort of way. I also disliked Burn After Reading for the same reason, although BBR was not as bad as this one.

now that i think more about it, it's basically like wes anderson tried to direct a coen brothers script.

I didn't even have to look at your location to know that you saw it at the last stand....

What the hell does an unfunny older guy like clooney have to do with hipster sort of way? I don't think he's taking cues from that. If anything i'm sure he loves monty python but just isn't nearly as funny/intelligent to pull off being "witty". Can i just start using mcqueen as an adjective for all things lame that old guys like? As in, man that clint eastwood movie looks faggy as hell in a mcqueenish sort of way
