Probably not. The clothing isn't comically ugly like, say, Express, so there is little entertainment value. You'd probably fall asleep staring at their tables of taupe-colored merino sweaters.

It's totally diff now. The blue shirt is slimmer. The gavin chinos recut. The black shoes, more blacker.

Yeah working at Banana Republic sucks. I get 50% off and don't buy shit cause none of it fits or looks good. I absolutely hate selling people a dark black button up with thick purple stripes and dark purple tie to go with it. I try to piece together a nice shirt + tie combo for them out of the shit we have, and their girlfriend always picks out the worst combo ever, (see above, or dark green shirt with dark green tie :fail and they always go with her choice. /rant The only thing that I like from them is, like i said before, Gavin sized down one. Every now and again they will have one style of boot that is nice and I can usually wait until deep discount to grab it because no one will buy it when it doesn't have a square bicycle toe.

I tried on a pair the other day. I don't see much of a difference from ones I've had in the past. They've always seemed cut pretty well. I still think they're the best run-of-the-mill khaki over Dockers, RL, Crew, other mall brands, etc.

Also disagree about their shirts. Tried on a few dress and casual ones. Still too bulky even in "slim fit" and I'm 5'9" 160.

Same with outerwear. Medium is too billowy. Small doesn't have enough room in the shoulders.

Sport jackets in "Tailored Fit" are cut very well compared to "Modern Fit."

that's where the sales come in br sent me an email with 40% off up to two items + free shipping on any order over $50 a few days ago too bad i couldn't actually find anything on the site worth buying, even with discounts like that

What about that brown leather jacket from last fall/winter. It was $ 298 and it was awesome. Maybe it was and aboration, one-of-a-kind thing?

I definitely agree with the above rant. Like someone else said the clothes themselves aren't that hideous on their own.. just really really boring for the most part. What scares me are the type of people you mentioned. There's just crowds of them.... for some reason every young twenties-ish professional thinks BR is the shit, and every recent college grad goes there to get their 'adult' clothes. I'm pretty sure all those guys just go with their GF's choice because A) they assume she's right b/c its clothes and she's a girl, B) they don't want to piss her off by disagreeing, and C) they really just don't give a shit... they have to wear a shirt and tie to work so they go and buy a shirt and tie.

+1 on the occasionally decent shoes. A couple years ago I got some clark's-made DBs for $8 when they were clearing them out. I'm kinda pissed I didn't think to buy an extra pair to flip, could made an easy $20-30.

To be positive - their outerwear is sometimes pretty decent. I used one of those 40% off coupons on a moleskin coat last winter. It held up pretty well and fit reasonably slim sized down 1.

I worked there two years ago and not once did I actually use the 50% employee discount. They've got some dandy fedoras though.

Their leathers aren't bad but the fit is pretty terrible, at least on me. But not much fits me OTR there. I actually like the designs of their women's leathers a lot, they had bone colored band collar DR with perf leather last season. It was awesome

If you go read reviews for mens wear items, many of them start like "I got this for my bf/hubby..."

The clothes themselves are horribly bland. They have to keep everything in the comfort zone of the most amount of guys out there.

Yea I got some of their saharas for 15 bucks w/ shipping last year.

It's mostly crap. I used to buy a lot of pants from them because they're one of the few retailers to carry 36 length, and without fail, the hem stitching would come loose.

There is the occasional gem. Last year, I picked up the heriitage toggle coat on sale + 40% off and I absolutely love it.

I actually got a perfect fit in the new-cut $60 slim-fit banana dress shirt. Something I couldn't achieve in any $200 shirt on the market. I think it all depends on your body type.
