What are you planning on paring that David Chu jacket with? It is a fantastic looking jacket and thinking about ordering it now.

Green khakis? Grey slacks? We'll see when it arrives.

I searched around, is there a 20% coupon floating around? I was also thinking of wearing the David Chu it with jeans, opinions?

Edit: Maybe that sounds a tad better, wearing the 15% jeans might not be all that attractive.

Not that I know of, but the link through support the forum takes 15% off, and if you use Google Checkout, they take another $10 off.

I nearly bought the Sutor Mantellassi suede loafers, but have got to rein in my clothes spending for the time being. Well, at least a little...

not sure if there's a 20% coupon floating around but you can use the 15% link at the top of the SF page.

Actually, the 15% coupon looks pretty good with jeans, too -- especially a dark wash.

Whatever you do; however, avoid the 10% coupon. The feeling of many SF members is that the 10 percenter is the coupon equivalent of the black suit. Personally, I'm fine with the 10% coupon, but many here will look down upon you if you decide to wear it with jeans or anything else.

I received my David Chu coat as referenced by grimslade. A little disappointed that STP sent me the wrong color, and it seems that a David Chu regular is rather short. I really like the jacket, is there enough room to let it out? I guess I can take it to a tailor to figure that out. What is the usual difference between a regular and long? It varies a lot for me.

There was a Olive Heather which I ordered and Brown Heather which I received. It is a shame that I am returning unless anyone has a 46L they want to swap, or wants the coat before I send it back.

I just responded to Beckwith's original question here, but the conversation seems to have migrated over here.

1.) AFAIK, there was only ever one color available. I think the jacket just appears lighter (on some screens) on STP than it is in person.

2.) There is no "long" model, again AFAIK. It's the way David Chu designed the jacket for it to be shortish.

3.) There's no real way to lengthen a jacket like this. If you can't live with the length, back to STP it must go. They did specify it was 30", which is on the short side, so I wasn't unprepared for that. But I'm still wavering on whether to keep or return.

So i received my new isaia suit from STP today.

http://www.sierratradingpost.com/Pro...x?baseno=52828

I thought it was Isaia Napoli but the labels read Gianluca Isaia Napoli.

How do I tell what line it is? Isn't the Isaia Napoli line better constructed than the Gianluca line?

Also the Scott model is much roomier than expected. Otherwise it is really lovely.

There's Gianluca Napoli and Gianluca Isaia Napoli. The first is the lower quality garment. What you linked to is the better made, as far as I can tell. It should be an excellent suit. Enjoy!

It's definitely not a "mere" Gianluca suit. Gianluca Isaia uses his first name to distinguish from Enrico Isaia.

EDIT: I just received this Isaia in a 56, and I find it huge. I went into C21 today, to try on an Isaia 54, and it seemed to fit better, but it had one of those antitheft devices through the sleeve, so it was a little hard to tell. The 56 is going back, but alas, they have no 54s at the moment.

Nice suit. I so want to like Isaias, but have yet to have an order for one work out.
